Farewell, Fatigue
When I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, I was determined not to let it ruin my life. With an excellent job as an editor, my very own charity, an excellent partner and 2 girls, I have a lot to feel grateful for. I did not want my diagnosis to affect my thanks for my achievements and good fortune. But I finished up totally defenseless to the bouts of fatigue that would completely take over my body.
I ended up having to take more breaks at work, which led on to having to take days off, which led straight to dividing my responsibilities out among my aides. I disagreed with my husband consistently, who has to go for long periods of time because of his job. I had to depend more on child care, asking my nanny to take on more hours so that I could rest. When I had to miss my eldest child starring in her school play because the pain and fatigue were too much to bear, I knew I needed something to seriously change.
A council member of my charity told me about Whole Body Vibration Training. She let me know that her sister had been diagnosed as having Fibromyalgia and nothing had worked to help her manage her sickness till she found this training. She explained that the training has an incredible effect on the nerve system, helping to dam out some of the erroneous pain signals associated with Fibromyalgia. Initially it sounded strange to me I am expected to stand on vibrating plates and let them cause involuntary muscle contractions in my body? I already felt like there were sufficient involuntary things occuring in my body, but at that point I felt desperate and depressed, so I subscribed to a session.
After only 14 days of training I started to notice important changes in my energy levels, and six weeks later I have managed to take the load off my aides and my nanny. My chronic pain has lessened massively and I feel like my life is my personal again. With Full Body Vibration, I know that I really can keep control over my life. I am not my disease, and I never will be.
